"Life at the Margins: Exposure to Carbon Monoxide among Roadside Businesses in Kampala Suburbs, Uganda"
The Carbon Monoxide Research for Africa (COR4A) in collaboration with Makerere University Department of Sociology and Anthropology and Bugema University Department of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences is inviting applications from highly motivated full-time students for two partial research scholarship opportunities.
The study integrates environmental exposure assessment and social science research to understand the occupational, environmental, behavioral, and socio-economic dimensions of carbon monoxide exposure among vulnerable urban populations.

Co-PIs: Dr Antony Nyombi (COR4A), Dr Anthony Mugeere Buyinza (Makerere University)
Environmental monitoring, air pollution exposure assessment, occupational health, ventilation assessment, and environmental data analysis.
Community research, environmental justice, occupational livelihoods, behavioral risk assessment, lived experiences, and qualitative research related to carbon monoxide exposure among roadside businesses.
* This is a six-month partial scholarship and does not provide tuition or full financial sponsorship.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to support themselves financially for aspects not covered by the opportunity.
Field activities will be conducted in selected suburbs of Kampala Metropolitan Area, Uganda.
